This book examines the testimony of the Samaritans, an ancient people from the biblical land of Samaria, as they offer valuable insights into the religion of ancient Israel. The author takes readers through the history of the Samaritans, their close relationship to the Jewish people, and the evolution of their religious practices. Through exploration of Samaritan religious rituals, theology, language, and literature, this book offers a unique perspective on the development of monotheism in the ancient world. By comparing the Samaritan Pentateuch with the Masoretic text and the Septuagint, the author contributes to the ongoing debate regarding the evolution of the Hebrew Bible.
