Excerpt from The Psychological Elements of Religious Faith Lectures
Many of Dr. Everett's friends have expressed the wish that there should be some permanent record of his lectures on theology a wish justified, it is believed, by the unique character of the lectures and the profound impression they made on those who heard them. The Faculty of the Harvard Divinity School, there fore, with the approval and authorization of the only surviving member of Dr. Everett's imme diate family, appointed a committee to consider the feasibility of bringing out the lectures, or a part of them, in book form. As Dr. Everett left no manuscript of his theological lectures.
