The work of the present volume was undertaken by the editor in response to the earnestly expressed desire of many with whom he has had sweet fellowship in the truth, who wished to have access to many of the readings in his posses sion. Furthermore, the desire seemed to be general for a book which should take in a larger scope of truth than a former volume of similar character, touching at least on all of the principal points that should be used in testimony for the Master.

The careful topical arrangement and analytical index, which are features of this work, will commend the book to Bible students, and will, we trust, meet a long and widely felt want. If it results in a fuller and deeper study of those precious portions of the Word which are too often neglected, it will have met the purpose and desire of the one who has been greatly blessed and instructed in its collection and arrangement.
