Excerpt from The Right of Systematic Theology
Professor Warfield of Princeton is well known on both sides of the Atlantic. He has rendered special service in the interest of Systematic Theology; and his defence of the "Right" of that science in a recent number of The Presbyterian and Reformed Review which he edits, has appeared to us well worthy of a wider circulation in this country than it can hope to have in a journal published in America.
This explains the issue of the present book, which we commend to the attention of all who have in any degree realised the importance of the subject.

James Orr (1844-1913) was a Scottish theologian born in Glasgow. He ministered at the East Bank Church in Harwick and later was professor of apologetics and theology at the United Free Church College in Glasgow. A highly respected evangelical lecturer both in Scotland and the United States, Orr was a valiant defender of historic orthodoxy in the heyday of liberal Protestantism, as seen in his contributions to The Fundamentals (1909-1915) as well as his chief apologetic work, The Christian View of God and the World.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book discusses the necessity for systematic theology, arguing that it is essential for the very existence of Christianity. The author argues that while Christianity is founded on facts, these facts are only meaningful when interpreted through doctrines, forming the basis of systematic theology. The author examines different arguments against systematic theology and shows how these arguments, when taken to their logical conclusion, would eliminate Christianity altogether, revealing a latent antipathy to clear thinking and an inability to use reason. The book provides a robust defense of systematic theology, demonstrating how it is necessary for the vitality and comprehension of Christianity. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the history of systematic theology, the role of doctrine in Christianity, or the understanding of Christian principles. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
