Excerpt from The Origin and Nature of Man
Our knowledge of a thing is in proportion to our knowledge of its causes; and a thing is not fully or truly known until all its causes are known.
The causes are the antecedents necessarily involved in the production of a thing.
Every work of design has four causes: the final cause, the formal cause, the material cause, and the efficient cause. If any one of these causes is lacking, the thing can never come into existence.
The final cause is the purpose for which a thing is designed. The formal cause is the ideal or form existing in the mind before embodiment. The material cause is the substance which embodies the form. The efficient cause is the agency employed to~perform the work of construction.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the profound questions of human origin and nature from a philosophical and scientific perspective. The author delves into ancient wisdom and modern theories of evolution to provide a comprehensive analysis of the subject. By examining the material, formal, efficient, and final causes of human existence, the book challenges conventional views on the relationship between science and religion. It argues that a true understanding of human nature can only be achieved through a holistic approach that embraces both physical and metaphysical dimensions. The author masterfully weaves together insights from diverse fields, including philosophy, biology, and theology, to present a thought-provoking examination of the essence of humanity. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
