Arthur Tappan Pierson (18371911), was an American Presbyterian pastor with a wide and varied transatlantic ministry that made him famous in Scotland and England. This pioneer of fundamentalism preached over 13,000 sermons in his lifetime, delivered Bible lectures in venues like Moody Bible Institute, and penned over fifty books. He served as a consulting editor for the original Scofield Reference Bible (1909) for his friend, C. I. Scofield and counted as friends such men as D. L. Moody, George Mller, Adoniram Judson Gordon, and C. H. Spurgeon (whom he succeeded in the pulpit of the Metropolitan Tabernacle, London).

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the central concept of the phrase "in Christ Jesus" that appears in the New Testament. It examines how the author interprets the phrase as a key to understanding the new life and being that believers find in Christ. The book delves into the historical and literary context of the New Testament, examining how different themes, such as redemption, salvation, and justification, are intertwined with this phrase. Thematic depth and ideas presented in the book include understanding the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ as central to our justification with God and how, by faith, believers are united with Christ, becoming one Spirit with Him, entering into a life of holiness and privilege in Him. The book concludes by highlighting the significance of these insights on the main subject, emphasizing the transformative power of being "in Christ Jesus" for those seeking spiritual growth and a deeper relationship with God.
