Synopsis

Excerpt from Our Human Rights According to the Laws of Nature: Progressive Theories on Law and Government

My motto and object shall be to do the most good for the most people. I believe that all laws, decisions of all courts and the very constitution itself should be based on that motto. This, then, would constitute just government, as just government is only obtained, by the will and with the consent of a majority of those governed, providing always that such majority is prop erly and fully informed of their just rights in everything by proper education. People would not be deceived, mis represented and exploited as continually and generally done at present, in such open and flagrant manner by our deceptive system of government, officials, our laws for Special Privilege and exploitation, if properly edu cated.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the political and social landscape of America during a period of immense change and upheaval. The author, a keen observer of his times, delves into the injustices and inequalities that plague the nation, particularly as they relate to wealth distribution, labor conditions, and the power of corporations. Drawing upon natural law, he presents a vision for a more just and equitable society, arguing that the United States must embrace a system of government based on the common welfare of all citizens. The author proposes radical reforms, including government ownership of utilities and natural resources, a strong centralized government with uniform laws, and a national system of compulsory education. He critiques the flaws of existing political and economic structures, emphasizing the need for a more harmonious and equitable system. The book challenges readers to think critically about the nature of justice and the role of government in ensuring a better future for all. This book offers a powerful and thought-provoking commentary on the challenges and possibilities of achieving true democracy in a nation grappling with the complexities of its own ideals.
