Excerpt from The History of the Life and Times of Edward the Third, Vol. 2 of 2
For several years after the release of King David, there was peace between England and Scotland, and, therefore, the history of the latter country need not now be pursued any further; but, before returning to the narrative of the events Which were occurring in England, it is necessary to give an account of King Edward's government of Ireland, and of the troubles with that country, which about this time sorely vexed England.
