The programme of the celebration, as ultimately adopted, is contained in the Programme of Commencement Week, given below. Invitations were sent to a large number of institutions, requesting them to send representatives, and likewise to many individuals prominent as educators, clergymen, or statesmen, as well as to the alumni of Wesleyan and others specially related to the University. The forms of invitations so used, with the lists of guests of the University present in Middletown during the cele bration, will be found in the Appendix.
