Excerpt from Aec Computing and Applied Mathematics Center: Aec Research and Development Report
The noise level (sum of the disturbed zero and one signals)in such an array (100 x 100 x 60) requires specia1 measures be taken to successfully extract the information content on the sense windings from the total signal. One such measure is strobing, made possible because the peak of the undesired signal, though large, does not coincide with the peak of the desired one° With a large number of memory planes, this method becomes increasingly difficult to instrument, as the strobing time no longer remains the same for each plane, but must be synchronized with both the transmission time between planes, and the peaking time tolerance of the cores.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book introduces novel ideas in memory device technologies, specifically within the realm of large, high-speed magnetic-core memory, that were not previously possible through earlier memory configurations. The author describes techniques and methods for constructing these memory devices that reduce noise and enhance efficiency. These insights are significant because they provide a starting point for solving problems in obtaining large, economical, and high-speed core memories, useful for a wide variety of computer applications. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781332120895_0
