The following Romance is founded upon a Tale that I have read in prose, but the name of the novel which contains it, I for get. The story in prose, as far as I can recollect it, is simply this: Lothaire sleeps in a cave, and is disturbed with visions. He finds he had slept upon a grave, and discovers a battle-axe upon it. He takes it up and leaves the cave. He is met by a hermit, who conducts him to the castle of a Baron, and then Opening his garment, discovers nothing but a human skeleton inside.
