Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book investigates the electro-magnetic scattering from the surface of two-dimensional perfectly conducting cylindrical structures. The author considers both normal and oblique electromagnetic plane wave incidences to solve the basic problem of scattering - the propagation of electromagnetic waves by a cylindrical hole in an infinite conducting wall. By expanding the solution to the field equations in a series of eigenfunctions appropriate to the problem, the author also considers problems involving apertures in waveguides, showing that the electric field in the aperture is a continuum of eigenfunctions. These results are used to calculate the reflection coefficient from an aperture by a perturbation technique, which assumes that the wave number is small. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Seller Inventory # 9781332177196_0
