Moschetta è il personaggio più divertente, quello su cui l'occhio dell'autore indugia con maggior compiacimento, e quindi il più vivo, anche se, in tutte le sue riapparizioni sulla scena, insista quasi esclusivamente sulla nota della sua insaziabile in gordigia. Voragine delle mense è definito nella bella scena quarta dell'atto secondo; poeta dei chiassi lo chiama poi Grillo (atto III, scena VI); ma quest'altra qualità è secondaria, se pur non discordante dalla prima. Come ghiottone, Moschetta ha tratti spassosissimi, che non si di menticano: si veda il brio con cui narra a Patrizio la sua finta avventura del pollaio (atto Il, scena VI), sia pure col salato condi mento dei doppi sensi; e la lepida vena con cui canticchia in sette nari l'attesa della scorpacciata (atto III, se. VII), e la sua dispera zione quando gli resta la lupa in corpo e, per giunta, si sente bei-fare, con le sue stesse rime, da Pistofilo. Una macchietta, più che un carattere; ma vivacissima, e ben degna che l'autore le affidasse anche il congedo della commedia.
Come poeta dei chiassi Moschetta ha il compito di scovare quella Loretta che deve turlupinare Zenobio, e di Loretta ascolta e commenta saporitamente la storia (atto III, scena X). Questa auto biografia della cortigiana parve già perfetta al Camerini, ma in realtà si tratta di una pagina di origine prevalentemente letteraria che ci richiama ai Ragionamenti d'ell'aretino.
