Excerpt from Der Griechische Nominalaccent

The author traces the development of the nominal accent system from its Indo-European origins, through its evolution in Ancient Greek, to its eventual standardization in the classical period. The work examines the theoretical underpinnings of the nominal accent system, as well as its practical application in a variety of contexts, including morphology, syntax, and semantics. It also investigates the diachronic and synchronic interrelationship between the nominal accent and other aspects of Greek grammar, such as morphology, syntax, and semantics. By providing a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the Greek nominal accent, this book offers a valuable resource for scholars and students of Greek linguistics and philology.
