De esta nobilísima familia descendía el P. Diego Luis de Motezuma, de la Compañía de Jesús, autor de la obra que publicamos y de quien sólo conocemos las es casas noticias insertas en la Biblioteca de escritores dela Compañía, en donde se dice que nació en Madrid el 14 de Marzo de 1536; fué recibido como novicio en la Com pañía el 14 de Marzo de 1636, profesando humanidades, filosofía y teología, y;que murió en Valladolid el 4 de Octubre de 1699.
Además de la Historia de los Motezumas, que, según parece, se conservaba original en el Colegio de San Igna cio, de Valladolid, escribió otras varias obras, que tam bién se quedaron manuscritas, entre ellas.
