Access ready-made educational materials for your classroom through the Children’s Museum program.
This edition describes how teachers can borrow illustrative material, have it delivered to their school, and return it on time for continued reuse in class.
Materials are loaned from the Children's Museum, housed in the Detroit Institute of Arts. Teachers should request items by telephone or by sending a note, and make requests at least a week in advance. Collections are sent to schools and picked up by the museum’s delivery service. Teachers may keep a collection for a week, or extend to two weeks if they request it in advance. A catalogue of available material is used in each school, and new items are listed periodically in the Educational Bulletin. Exhibitions are shown in the museum room, with advance planning recommended for class visits. If a longer loan is needed, or assistance is desired, staff can explain exhibits to students.
Ideal for teachers seeking ready-to-use resources to enhance geography and related subjects in the classroom.
