Mit der vorliegenden vierten Abtheilung, die die Kunstdenkmäler der Amtsbezirke Mosbach und Eberbach enthält, schliesst der lV. Band des Kunst-Inventarisationswerkes von Baden. Bildeten die Reste römischer Kultur in den vom limes durchzogenen Strecken den Schwerpunkt des letzt erschienenen Theiles, so sind es diesmal die zum Theil in Trümmer liegenden, zum Theil wohlerhaltenen herrlichen Burgen des Neckarthales, neun an der Zahl, welche das Hauptinteresse in Anspruch nehmen. Daneben bieten altromanische Bauten, wie die S. Gangolf-Kapelle bei Neudenau, gothische Gotteshäuser, wie die Notburga-Kirche zu Hochhausen und die Mosbacher Stadtkirche, VVasserschlösser wie Lohrbach, Presteneck und das Templerhaus in Neckarelz, ferner die malerischen Wohnhäuser in Mosbach und Eberbach in Verbindung mit werthvollen Resten mittelalterlicher Wandmalerei und Skulptur eine Fülle des kunstgeschichtlich Bemerkenswerthen und künstlerisch Werthvollen.
Der Bearbeitung der prähistorischen und römischen Alterthümer hat sich auch diesmal Herr Geh. Rath Dr. E. Wagner unterzogen, die Beschreibung der Burg Hornberg stammt aus der Feder des Regierungsbaumeisters und Privatdozenten an der Technischen Hoch-schule zu Darmstadt, Herrn Adolf Zeller. Die historische Einleitung und die Grundlagen zu dem Artikel Eberbach hat Herr Bürgermeister Dr. J. G. Weiss von Eberbach zu liefern die Güte gehabt, Herr Dr. Karl Sopp vom Grossh.
