Excerpt from Random Recollections
Though no portions of the first and second editions of this work were on sale, they were soon exhausted in supply ing calls on me for copies. The requests in numerous news papers and letters that I would place the book where it could be purchased, amounted almost to a rebuke for my not hav ing done this. In compliance with this desire, I have spent a few weeks in preparing a third edition, which will be issued and sold by a book-publishing house. The new matter in this third edition makes the volume about two thirds larger than the second edition, and about three times as large as the first.
