Dido con ellos a algunos hombres de buena fé (dignos de mejor¡ suerte): el despertar a los que de ello sean susceptibles, ídel profundo letargo, en que les ha sumido la melíflua pocion de en venenada elocuencia de esos hienas revestidos con la blanca piel del cordero, y evitar con todo el esfuerzo, que pueda dar de si mi débil voz, la caida de algunos inespertos en el abismo que sin cesar profundizan con sus ensangrentadas y venales manos; esta es la ansiedad que en mi pecho existe, y del sínodo ¿jue deseo ser útil a esta infortunada patria, cuyos mas obstinados enemigos han sido siempre aquellos hijos á los que con mano tal vez demasiado pródiga ha colmado de riquezas y no merecidos 'honores.
