Excerpt from Constitution and by-Laws and List of Members: July, 1903
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives, in General Court assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: section 1. George M. Dexter, Simeon Borden. William P. Parrott, their associates and successors, are hereby made a corporation by the name of The Boston Society of Civil Engineers, for the purpose of promoting science and instruction in the department of Civil Engineering, with all the powers and privileges, and subject to all the duties liabilities, and restrictions set. Forth in the forty-fourth chapter of the Revised Statutes.
