This is not designed to imply that I have any dis position to enter into a controversy with any member of the Old Church. No one can desire it less but if publications are issued against the New Church, which demand a reply,i wish to know whence they come, that I may 'be the better enabled to show whither they go and I believe that the cause of truth and honest dealing, and a' due regard to the good of the writers themselves, render it proper for members of the New Church to protest against this secret warfare. That the readers of this first pamphlet may hereafter have the benefit of such names as: the compiler and printer should have given, I shall state some facts, which -i suppose to be susceptible of legal proof.
