IN this edition the technical matter has been revised and brought up to date, new illustrations having also been supplied in accordance with changes in the design Of various cars. As the systems described are intended to cover a representative field of practice, the first selection has been modified, and will in future editions be further modified in order to keep up with the development of the industry.

About the Author
Filson Young was a writer and journalist best known for his work Titanic, published a scant 37 days after the ship s tragic sinking. A dedicated modernist, Young, in addition to his writing, was an active motorist, pilot, composer, editor, and correspondent, and is credited with helping discover James Joyce. Filson Young died in 1938 at the age of 62.
