There are some matters in this Record relating more to Mr. Prime personally than to the affairs of the Church, particularly his family record, which he saw fit to set forth at greater length than the records of the families of his parishioners. This is so quaintly worded and illustrates so well the. Character of the man and the habits and thoughts of the time, that it would be a loss to the interest of this volume to omit it.
It has been thought best to print everything as it occurs in this Record, changing the spelling, the punctuation and the use of capital letters only as may be necessary to give uniformity and conformity to the usage of that period.
