Excerpt from A Comparison of the Various Methods of Determining the Ratio of the Electromagnetic to the Electrostatic Unit of Electricity
In this method no condenser need be employed. A certain con stant electromotive force of considerable magnitude is measured by means of an absolute electrometer in electrostatic units es, and then it is obtained in electromagnetic measure by measuring the current 1m, flowing under this same electromotive force through a known resistance Rm.
