As to the Belgae being the first Brythonic invaders Of Britain, it is clearly against the statement of Caesar, and other wise not credible.
A tribe called Scots belonging to the Goidels are known to have passed from Ireland into Alban (scotland) in the fourth century of our era, the latter country being then Occupied by Bry thons and Picts.' In the fifth and sixth centuries a.o. A southern Brythonic people, under pressure from invading Teutonic tribes, passed over to Armorica in Gaul, in which Gallic speech had then died out, and gave their name to the country - Brittany.
The influence of each of these Celtic peoples is still to be traced in our place-names.
