Synopsis
This book instructs beginners on the first elements of instrumental practice for engineering students. The author's approach emerged from difficulties faced teaching students how to use instruments for a first-time project in the field. Rather than having a dozen or so students working on a single project while the rest stand around, these problems can be used to keep each student busy with some definite work for which they have definite instructions, thus getting the students working efficiently in a limited amount of time. Students' attention is also drawn to the degree of precision that is required in instrumental work in order to obtain any required precision in the final results. The book aims to supplement the general instructions of general textbooks by such definite directions that the students may work alone, aided only by occasional help as may be given by one instructor looking after several parties.
