The Report of the Select Committee of the House of Commons with reference to the Homicide Bill of last session, contained these words: It would seem that a code aiming, like the Homi cide Bill, to reduce a large and complicated subject to a few abstract propositions, can hardly be made intelligible to the non legal mind without the use of illustrations by putting particular cases, an important innovation which your committee recommend to the favourable attention of the House.
