Synopsis
This book explores the dialectics of change that emerge in implementing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Faced with knowledge barriers when replacing legacy systems, companies must overcome challenges in configuring the new software and assimilating the new work processes it enables. Implementation processes varied; some chose to focus on technology first and process changes second, while others tackled both together. The author found that the distinction between these approaches was more apparent in stated philosophies than in their implementation practices.
