Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book traces the history of the St. Thomas Parish from the arrival of the first settlers in 1803 to 1921. It describes the hardships faced by early Catholic settlers who had to travel long distances to attend Mass and the efforts made by priests like Bishop McDonnell to establish a Catholic presence in the region. The book documents the growth of the parish, the construction of churches and schools, and the arrival of religious orders like the Sisters of St. Joseph.
