Cardio-vascular system: Pulse rate 82. Blood pressure: systolic' 108, diastolic 54. Heart: The transverse diameter is 15 cm. And the usual anaemic murmur is to be heard over the praecordium. Gastro-intestinal system: The gums show a slight pyorrhoea alveolaris. The liver is just palpable and slightly larger than normal. The spleen is large, firm, and easily palpated, extending cm. Below the costal margin, but it is not tender.
