This book was begun as an introduction to the medical writings of the author, read before scientific bodies and published during the last two decades. The MS. outgrew the original purpose. Radio-activity, while forcing a change in viewpoint in all the sciences, is chiefly identified in the public mind as in mysterious relation with malignancy. Nevertheless, as this is the point on which false hopes might work harm, the following quotation is taken from the writers book on this subject: (viz, The Problem of Cancer; or the Philosophy of Malignancy ). The author proposes that all matter is formed from the same substance, which is coiled up in space and unwound in time. This theory challenges the traditional view of matter as being composed of atoms and molecules and suggests that the universe is constantly evolving and changing. The author also discusses the relationship between radio-activity and cancer, arguing that the same force that powers the universe can also be used to destroy it. This book is a fascinating and thought-provoking exploration of the nature of reality and the origins of life. Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
