Excerpt from Exciting Current of Transformers in Three-Phase Circuits: Thesis
In this investigation, higher harmonics of frequencies as high as the eleventh were observed, but the third proved by far the most important. Those harmonics above the fifth were found to be relatively unimportant and their maximum values so small as to be practically negligible.

Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the complex relationship between transformers and magnetic flux. It begins by analyzing the impact of flux density on transformer performance and investigates the various harmonics that occur in transformer excitation current. The author presents experimental data from tests, explains the concepts of single-phase testing, and discusses the interconnection of transformers, including star-delta, delta-delta, and star-open-delta configurations. The book concludes by examining the importance of transformer core loss and the effects of higher harmonics on transformer operation. Throughout, the author provides a detailed theoretical framework and real-world examples, demonstrating the practical implications of these concepts for electrical engineering applications. This book offers valuable insights into the behavior and optimization of transformer systems, making it an essential resource for engineers, researchers, and practitioners in the field of electrical power engineering.
