Synopsis
This book presents the findings of an extensive expedition to collect and study the higher vertebrates of Vancouver Island. The author, a mammalogist, was joined by a second scientist and an expert hunter during a four-month expedition in 1910. They collected over 500 mammal skins, 1100 bird specimens, and documented dozens of species on the island. This book presents a checklist of the species encountered along with detailed accounts of each, including behaviors and habitats.
