Excerpt from Catalogue of a Fine Collection of Greek, Hebrew, Roman, and Other Ancient Coins in Gold, Silver and Bronze, in Seven Coin Cabinets, and Large Iron Safe: Also, a Library of About Seventy Volumes of Choice and Rare Books on Coins, Many Folio and Quatro, With Plates, the Property of S. B. Schieffelin, to Be Sold Without Reserve at Auction by Messrs. Leavitt, at Clinton Hall, Astor Place
We wish to call particular attention to the fact that the coins in this collection are to be sold in the evening, instead of the afternoon, as usual. We have made this change for the convenience of gentlemen who are unable to attend auctions held in the daytime, thereby giving all an opportunity of purchasing, and also of seeing what they buy. The coins will be on exhibition throughout the day in the salesroom.
In regard to the condition of the various pieces, we can insure in tending purchasers at a distance that they have all been faithfully de scribed, and, in cases of the slightest doubt, the condition of the coins has, if anything, been rather under-estimated.
