But let us read this book with attention. Let us consider the instructions plaiul y conveyed in it to our minds. Let as meditate upon the glorious works recorded in it. Let us supplicate God to open our eyes, that we may see the wonderful things of his law. Then shall we know whether this book is from God or not. In the mean time, we need not trouble ourselves with'the question, Why the name of God is not to be found, in the letters of it, in this book? It is found in it in such a form, as will strike with admiration, and inspire with holy afl'ections, all who have learned that the Lord is known by the judgements which he executes.
