Summary of Crop Conditions in Foreign Countries in December, 1921.
The harvesting of the cereal crops is now in full progress in the Southern Hemisphere. Owing to the dry, unfavorable conditions at seeding time in Argentina the wheat area of acres is slightly over acres less than that of last year, or less. The favorable growing conditions during October and November, however, have in a large measure offset the lateness of the plant ing season and the poor start caused by the drought and, although no official estimates of production are yet available, an average yield per acre is reported.
Argentina - The area of oats in Argentina for 1921 - 22 is acres, or of 1920-21. The condition is general] good, and fair to large yields are reported]. The area of linseed for 1921 - 22 is acres, or of 1920 - 21, but the condition of the crop is poor and a low yield is expected.
