For this last reason, and in accordance with the practical r'le that in explanations the simpler shall precede the com plex, an arrangement has been chosen whereby the material before us is discussed in three divisions, of which the first treats of Transmitters, the second of Operators for changing the position of objects, and the third of Operators for chang ing the form of objects.
