The guardians of any union or parish have the power to assist the emigration of the poor, and to charge the cost upon the common fund of the union or parish not in union. And the 12 and 13 Vic., cap. 103, sec. 90, enacts that the guardians of any union, or separate parish, may expend, with the order of the Poor Law Board, any sum of money not exceeding £10 for each person, for the emigration of poor persons having settlements therein.
