Excerpt from Report of the Board of Building Commissioners of the State of Oregon Relative to the Location and Establishment of an Institution for Feeble-Minded and Epileptic Persons to the Twenty-Fourth Legislative Assembly, Regular Session, 1907
To the Honorable Legislative Assembly of the State of Oregon, twenty-fourth Regular Session: gentlemen: Pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 181 of the General Laws of Oregon for 1905, the State Board of Public Building Commissioners, consisting of the Governor, Secretary of State, and State Treasurer, were instructed and authorized to ascertain the probable cost of a proper building or buildings for the care of the feeble-minded and epileptic children of the State. And for the purpose of ascertaining such probable cost, the kind and character to be erected, and also the expense of main the Board were authorized to visit or send an agent or agents to visit other institutions of similar kind in other States.
