Amorphous silica has had an application in the arts for many years. It has been used as a scouring material, and in the manufacture of various scouring soaps and other commodi~ ties of a similar nature. The present uses for amorphous sil ica are, however, entirely out of proportion with the supply, and the material is clamoring for an application that will give it a satisfactory market.
