Eleanor Boyle has been a college instructor for 15 years, and teaches at Capilano College in Vancouver. She holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Chicago and a PhD in neuroscience from the University of British Columbia. She has led numerous teaching workshops for faculty, helping colleagues involve students in lectures and in learning. Previously, Eleanor had a 10-year career as a newspaper and television journalist, and studied as a Press Fellow at Cambridge University in England.

Harley Rothstein, an educator and writer, earned a Bachelor's degree in history and a PhD in the history of education from the University of British Columbia. After completing formal teacher training, he taught in the public school system for 11 years. He later worked in the Faculty of Education at UBC for 10 years, teaching music education as well as supervising and mentoring future teachers. He is currently working on a book about alternative schools. Harley is also a performing and recording musician, and has an adult daughter.
