Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book centers on the chivalric exploits of Don Quixote, a man who has lost his mind reading so many books on the subject that he decides to become a knight-errant himself. Accompanied by his loyal but down-to-earth squire, Sancho Panza, Don Quixote sets out to right wrongs and defend the honor of the defenseless. Along the way, he encounters a hilarious mix of characters, including giants (who are really windmills), damsels in distress (who are often prostitutes), and talking animals. This book is a masterpiece of world literature, combining humor, adventure, and social commentary. The author, widely regarded as the "Father of the Novel," uses Don Quixote to satirize the excesses of chivalric romance and explore the nature of reality, idealism, and the human condition. With its universal themes and timeless appeal, this book continues to captivate readers centuries after its initial publication. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book humorously chronicles the adventures of nobleman Alonso Quixano, a man so devoted to the outdated ideas of chivalry prevalent in the age of knights-errant that he renames himself Don Quixote de la Mancha and decides to wander Spain to right wrongs and protect the helpless. However, the tales of chivalry have left him so out of touch with reality that he mistakes inns for castles, prostitutes for damsels in distress, and ordinary people for knights and giants. Along the way, he is accompanied by the simple farm laborer Sancho, who, while drawn to the promise of wealth and adventure, acts as a witty and down-to-earth counterpoint to his master's fanciful imaginings. Through Don Quixote's adventures, the author explores the power of imagination, the importance of distinguishing between fantasy and reality, and the enduring human capacity for self-deception.
