The system was originally devised by William Ennever in 1890s and was taught through a correspondence course from the Pelham Institute in London and later from 6 overseas branches, our set comes from the New York branch. It was intended to cure problems like a 'grasshopper mind', procrastination and forgetfulness (ie ADHD). Its use was widespread and was practised and promoted by people of important such as British prime minister H. H. Asquith, Baden-Powell, Rider Haggard, Jerome K.
