Condition: guter Zustand. Aquarell über Bleigriffel, auf Bütten, links unten signiert und datiert G. P. Rug: fe: AO. 1713". 22,6:16,6 cm. Insgesamt etwas stockfleckig. Auf einen Sammlungskarton aufgezogen und mit mehreren grauen Tuschlinien umrandet. Provenienz: Sammlung J. A. Boerner (1785-1862), Nürnberg, Lugt 269 und 270. Ver…gleichsliteratur: A.Ch. Held, Georg Philipp Rugendas. Diss. München, 1996, G 98, hier wird unter der Anmerkung ein Aquarell erwähnt, das sich in der Graphischen Sammlung, Augsburg befindet (Inv.Nr. G 5626) und dessen Signatur, wie auch das Datum genau mit der hier vorliegenden Zeichnung übereinstimmen. Allerdings ist dieses Blatt viel weniger farbig als das vorliegende ausgeführt. Dr. G. Krämer, Augsburg, danken wir für den Hinweis, daß sich, ebenfalls in Augsburg, unter der Inv. Nr. G 21125 auf einem Blatt mit zwei Naturstudien eine kleine Bleistiftskizze befindet, die die Frau mit Spinnrocken und Spindel genau nach der Natur vorzeichnet (Nachricht vom 30.12.2006). Bildmäßig ausgeführtes Blatt. Aquarelle des für seine Schlachtenbilder besonders berühmten Malers sind selten.
