Rústica. Condition: Muy bueno.

Hildt (1734-1805) was a Gotha city treasurer and merchant who published several weekly trade journals on the manufacturing industries, the applied arts, and new inventions. His beautiful collection of wood samples was advertised for sale at the Gotha Forestry Board and acquired by the Prussian Commission of Arts & Crafts in 1802. Both album and text volume are remarkably well preserved as essential hand-guides for artisans and merchants of the period and must be considered rare survivals in such remarkable condition.
