Paperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book offers a deep dive into the 19th-century phenomenon of spiritualism and the emergence of the spiritism movement. The author explores how spiritism originated as a counterculture alongside the growth of industrial capitalism and mechanization. The text examines how this movement attracted followers from all walks of life, demonstrating the universality of the human search for transcendence. The author sheds light on the unique characteristics of spiritualism, from its belief in the healing power of the spirit world to its emphasis on the importance of intuition and emotional connection. Through an exploration of primary sources, the book uncovers the deeply personal experiences and motivations of prominent figures in the spiritist movement, revealing how these individuals found meaning and solace in spiritualism. It provides a holistic analysis of the movement's core beliefs, its practices, and its impact on individuals and society at large. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
