'A detailed & practical guide to the tooling, modelling, carving & other means of decorating leather & to the making & covering of articles in that material; with instructions on cleaning, staining, colouring & gilding, etc. etc.' A good copy of the book, but has been recovered with a leather-effect paper. The recovering has been nicely done, and has the initials TB on the front and an inscription from the same on the front endpaper. The covering has some wear around the edges and a small area of loss at the foot of the spine (underneath which the original binding is visible). The endpapers look to have been used or replaced during the recovering.
