The engravings that accompany the essay are beautiful. Also included are articles on Torpedos and Torpedo Boats; woodland flowers ("In th…e Pines", again with lovely illustrations); an article about Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, with a handsome portrait; a historical piece on ancient pueblos and the native Americans who built and lived in them; "The Social Athens of America" focuses on some of the leading families in the upper crust of genteel America. There is much more, including serialized fiction, poetry, and literary discussions. A very interesting smattering of advertising includes a stunning promotional advertisement for amateur photography and supplies. A small remnant of a subscription label can be seen on the front . BINDING - Re the aforementioned loss to foot of spine . There is evidence of minor mending neatly effected to the front cover's attachment to the spine - else the issue seems solid, with no detached or loose leaves. INTERIOR - Starting from the front, and diminishing in effect are top corner damp stains; there are scattered small spots and smudges, scattered foxing, small tears and creases to leaf edges.
