Soft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. A 1942 missionary memoir documenting early Baptist mission work in Chile, written by Southern Baptist missionary Agnes Graham and dedicated to Dr. Charles E. Maddry of the Foreign Mission Board. This first edition retains its original textured tan paper wraps, now worn along edges with creasing, small losses at corners, and general surface soiling. Text block remains complete and fully legible, though toned throughout with scattered foxing consistent with wartime paper. Previous owner's penciled notes appear on the copyright page and intermittent pencil marks or marginal annotations occur throughout. A small handwritten note (laid in) and an additional penciled name appear inside, suggesting use as a study or reference copy by a prior owner engaged with mission history. Binding remains holding, though the softcover joints show external wear. This printing carries the 1942 copyright line, 'Printed in the United States of America,' and no subsequent printing statements, consistent with Broadman Press first editions of this period. Pages are intact and free from major tears, aside from expected edge-wear from use. Despite cosmetic flaws, the book presents soundly and remains a well-preserved example of an uncommon missionary title. Condition: Good. Agnes Graham was a Southern Baptist missionary who served in Chile beginning in the 1920s and played a significant role in the growth of Baptist evangelical work in the southern region of the country. Her writing preserves firsthand accounts of early mission challenges, local church formation, and the emerging Baptist movement in Chile. Her work is frequently referenced in histories of Southern Baptist foreign missions.
