Sólo pudo leer las dos primeras páginas. Tuvieron que pasar algunos años hasta que se enfrentó de nuevo a la lectura de aquellos cuader…nos encabezados por la frase «A mi hijo Sergi y a los que puedan venir posteriormente». . . Enero, 1939. Ante el avance las tropas franquistas, miles de republicanos emprenden el camino del exilio. Uno de ellos, cargado con varias cámaras y una maleta llena de negativos, es el genial fotoperiodista Agustí Centelles (1909-1985). El 5 de febrero, Centelles cruza la frontera de Francia y es detenido. Conducido al campo de Argelès sur Mer, pasó en marzo al campo de concentración de Bram hasta septiembre de 1939. Consciente de la importancia histórica y humana de su experiencia, el gran fotógrafo y periodista -comparable a los legendarios Capa, Seymour o Taro- plasmó esta trágica aventura en un diario íntimo donde narró la vida cotidiana de su internamiento, las noticias que recibía del final de la Guerra Civil y los temores por el destino de amigos y familiares atrapados en la nueva y terrible España del victorioso Franco.
